The Humans are away as the mother Duck proudly escorts her mischievous brood for an afternoon swim unaware that they are not following her. One chick flops onto the stones to rest in the summer heat , two argue , whilst others watch the swimmers paddling in the cool water. One inquisitive but brave chick sneeks up the steps to investigate what lies beyond the 'forbidden gate'. He has been warned not to venture near it but his young heart yearns to see for himself.
